The “premiere event” for Manitoulin Island; The people of Wikwemikong, Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Canada invites everyone to come and join in our celebration.
Prior to 1961, the Community of Wikwemikong thought resurgence of our people would never come to reality. In the year of 1961, we were met with overwhelming pride, emotions, laughter and love to once again witness our songs and dances.
Throughout the years the Wikwemikong Annual Cultural Festival has drawn an audience and participation from each of the four directions.
Dancing, singing, laughing, visiting, relaxing are a few choice words that this milestone will embrace you with during your time with us July 31, August 1 & 2 2010. Authentic aboriginal arts, crafts, and products from vendors will satisfy everyone’s need for unique and original shopping. Traditional Foods by our many food vendors are sure to tantalize anyone’s taste buds.
The 50th Annual Cultural Festival will be a most impressive display of culture for all ages to enjoy, plenty will be offered to our visiting families from cultural workshops, art demonstrations, fireworks, and special presentations that will take your breath away. There is sure to be something for everyone in attendance.
Let the extraordinary memory of our 50th Annual Cultural Festival be your permanent souvenier.
