The Wikwemikong Heritage Organization is located on the Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve on beautiful Manitoulin Island in northern Ontario, Canada.
The Wikwemikong Heritage Organization's programming services the general band membership of the Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve.
VISION STATEMENT
The Wikwemikong Heritage Organization will uphold the uniqueness of Anishinaabe way of utilizing a wholistic approach as initiated by the Ojibwa, Odawa, and the Pottawatami of the Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve No.26
MISSION STATEMENT
The Wikwemikong Heritage Organization is a non-profit organization committed to the preservation and enhancement of Anishinaabeg culture through education and the participatory cultural opportunities with both Native and Non-Native people.
OBJECTIVES
Objectives of the Wikwemikong Heritage Organization are identified as follows;
1. To maintain and provide opportunities to sustain the Anishinaabe language.
2. To improve artistic opportunities for Anishnabeg who are emerging and the accomplished artists in professional attainment.
3. To engage in collaborative efforts with other cultural and historical based initiatives.
4. To promote and research the original Anishnabe philosophy and belief systems.
